FG Announces Public Holiday On Dec 25th, 26th & January 1st

The Federal Government has declared December 25th and 26th, 2014, as public holidays to mark the Christmas and Boxing Day Celebrations

This was contained in a statement made public today, December, 18, 2014, Thursday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Eng. Abubakar Magaji.

According to the statement, Thursday January 1st, 2015 has also been declared a public holiday to mark the New Year. The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, who made the announcement, enjoined all Christian faithful and Nigerians in general to extend the spiritual benefits of Christmas, which are love, peace, justice, kindness to their daily lives and through this contribute to the development of the nation.

“Comrade Abba Moro further urged Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace and unity across the country,” the statement said.
